Salone Gov’t to Review Citizenship Law

A recent outburst by a popular businessman and socialite of Lebanese descent, Nasser Ayoub, has urged the government of Sierra Leone to consider reviewing its laws on citizenship.
Sierra Leone’s minister of Information and Communication, Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo, said President Ernest Bai Koroma has directed that the constitution should be looked into to make certain amendments for Lebanese and other nationals who were born in the country to become citizens of Sierra Leone. He said a meeting with various stakeholders has already been held on the issue.
