Willie Becomes Female Advocate 10/11/08
According to the songster the album contains 11 songs in both English and Krio which were recorded at studios in 15 different cities in China. The album will feature songs done with Kandeh Osaio Kamara (KOK), Melody and Sasha, all of whom are also residing in China.
Other songs in the album include ‘Rokota’, ‘Sha Sha’, ‘Shame Pan We’, ‘E Nor Go Work’ and album title ‘50/50’.
Explaining the message of her album, the three times best female artist said women must be seen as partners in the decision making process.
She said women must be given equal opportunity to prove themselves, citing as an example Africa’s only female president Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, whom she described as her mentor.
“I can’t be tired of seeing her on TV. She has a great task as a woman leading a country, especially one that is coming out of war. I am proud of her and I said to myself that I shall also be the voice of the voiceless through my music,” said Willie Jay.

Willie Jay is a three times award winner for best female entertainer in Sierra Leone. Willie Jay has been entertaining the Sierra Leonean community both at home and abroad since she was 17.
She joined her first group called Grandpapa ‘n’ Crew where she adopted the nickname 'Grand mama'. She once took part in the all inter-secondary school rap competition where she grabbed loads of certificates as winner in late 1998.
She decided to join the first female R&B group in Sierra Leone called Sisters With Attitude [SWA]. She was the lead rapper of the group. Almost a year later, they released their first album titled ‘Fantasy' under the Planet Sound Studio label in 2002.
SWA joined the Paradise Studio [Paradise Family] and featured in the studio’s first and second compilation albums. From 2002 to 2005, they were managed by Premier Media Consultancy under whose guidance they released two successful albums ‘Baby come on’ and ‘Salone man’.
In May 2005, Willie Jay released her first solo album titled ‘Sweet mot man’.
Known for her energetic and outstanding performances, Willie Jay was awarded the best female entertainer in the country from 2004 to 2006. She has become an icon in her country’s growing music industry and She is working on her second album which will be out very soon. She is down for whatever.
